The Embassy Suites offers a free shuttle to and from the Salt Lake City Airport.  There is a courtesy phone in the baggage pick-up area or you may phone them at the regular number, 801-359-7800 when you arrive.

Tourist and Visitor Information

In addition to our Thursday tour, those arriving early who would like to attend the L.D.S. Conference on Sunday, the 7th to hear the Tabernacle Choir in their full majesty, please e-mail me immediately at wsd@byu.edu  and I'll arrange for free tickets.
The sessions of conference start at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. These conference sessions are 2 hours each.

Scheduled events for the conference will include:

  • A behind-the-scenes technical tour of the Salt Lake Tabernacle, home of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
  • A personalized ancestor search for any family members you may be interested in finding or learning about.
    There will be specialists available at no cost to assist you in your search. Just bring what information you have and they will take it from there.
  • Free light rail transportation around the city's central areas.

We will have the opportunity to attend a broadcast rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's weekly national broadcast Music & the Spoken Word on Thursday evening (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) The live broadcast will take place as it has contiuously for over 75 years. We will also be able to attend the live broadcast the following Sunday morning.

Make the most of your stay in Salt Lake City by getting around and seeing the sights! You can find hundreds of things to do in and around the Wasatch Front at the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau website. Salt Lake is only a short distance from the resort city of Park City. A few highlights of Salt Lake City to consider visiting are listed below:

  • Salt Lake is hometown to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Weekly rehearsals are usually free and open to the public on Thursday evenings (8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
  • Temple Square, located in the heart of Salt Lake offers many places to visit and see.
  • The LDS Conference Center gives regular and free tours to the public during the week. The inside of this immense building is impossible to imagine until you've seen it yourself.
