So what do I like to do? I’m
obsessed with rocks so anything to do with the outdoors is
fine by me. I live for dances. However, if you go with me,
you’ve got to dance because I’m not there for your
entertainment (pet peeve: when people just stand around at a
dance). I adore reading; if you make me a book list, I’ll
love you forever. For the most part I like running—mostly
because it gets me out of the house and doing something
productive. And of course, I love ballet.
Will I ever get tired of dancing? I seriously doubt it.
My heart is hopelessly devoted to it. I still have those
days, when I wake up and say to myself, are you crazy? But
no matter what, I’ll keep dancing, even if the only stage
left is my kitchen. Sometimes people will debate whether
dance is a sport or an art? What’s my answer? Both! Dance
requires “speed, power, balance, and endurance—all those
things that define the athlete. But then there are grace,
beauty, form, emotion, and the power of communication. There
is art.” See? The experts agree with me.
Speaking of art, I love that too. I’ve loved art long,
but wasn’t aware of my talent until I began writing in
cursive (3rd grade). My quiet pride in my good handwriting
led me to other great heights, such as….drawing! For a long
time I would just doodle at home and stash my artwork under
my bed. Now I like doing all kinds of art (esp. oil
painting)! I have very few talents to boast of—so excuse me,
it won’t happen again.
I enjoy doing really spontaneous things—like,
rollerblading at midnight, getting Crispy Fish Tacos from
Del Taco, making tater tots, dancing in front of the window,
rock-hunting, eating at the hospital…. I also have some
random goals. I’ve always wanted to learn to knit a pair of
socks, make pineapple upside-down cake, catch a fish, learn
to dive properly, cross the Mississippi River, cut down a
tree..... |
