Welcome to Ms. Poole's Biology, AP Biology, or Chemistry class.  My goal is for you to learn, and enjoy, this class. Please let me know if you're not doing either of these things. I love to see students succeed, so let me help you get a good grade. I look forward to having you in my class.
 
In this class we will be discussing subjects that are both interesting and beneficial. Everybody has the right to learn in this class. Please do not interfere with someone else's rights by disrupting the class in any way. I think everybody needs to find where they are great, where they can gain confidence, and where they can grow! I would like to help you do this, but remember ultimatly YOU are responsible for your own eduaction.

Class Rules

My rules are important to the success of each student in the class. I don't think that I need to make a list of everything you can and cannot do. Because you are mature adults I am confident that the few rules I list will cover most aspects of the class. Please feel free to ask me about anything you do not understand.

1.    When Ms. Poole speaks you listen...
2.    Keep my classroom clean.
3.    No standing by the door to wait for the bell to ring.
4.    Follow lab safety procedures--please be cautious so that students in the future can enjoy hands-on labs, too!

Grading

Evaluation of your achievement in the class will be based on the following componenets.

*    Tests  25%
*    Assignments  25%
*    Attendance  20%
*    Quizzes  15%
*    Labs  15%

Please make note of the fact that 20% of your grade is based on your attendence. It is important that you come to class!

Late Work

Late work will be accepted up to two weeks after the due date. However each day an assignment is late it will be docked 5 points. That is 5 points per day after the due date.
