Birth:  20 March 1979; Castro Valley, California, USA

Education:

M.S., Integrative Biology, BYU (current position; Jerald B. Johnson, advisor)

B.S., Integrative Biology, BYU, 2005 (Duke S. Rogers, advisor)

Research Interests:

My thesis research is focused on testing biogeographic boundaries developed from community composition data.  My thesis examines whether or not boundaries between fish ecoregions in lower Central America can be predicted using single-species phylogeography.  I am currently examining phylogeography of the livebearing fish Poecilia gillii to test these ideas.

My research interests in biology include molecular systematics, genomics, conservation, and science education.  While I do not restrict myself taxonomically, my current leanings and experience favor work on fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.
